As a mixed media artist working from her Hinterland studio ,Glenis uses oil, acrylic or watercolour in painting, often combined with ink and/or collage. She is currently excited by watercolour offering the fluidity necessary for loose, organic and free-flowing strokes, its bright colours acting as a counterpoint to the dark ink detail, while collage ,pieces of fabric ,paper or cardboard present the opportunity for marvellous textures and contrast. In her figure drawing anything that makes a mark and contributes an element to the piece is a valid material and enthusiasm can carry a drawing into another dimension!
A later visitor to the Gallery kindly emailed his impressions . So thoughtful! Thank you Brad Drew

'The whole little precinct where the cafe and gallery are, has been put together so well. We had a light cafe lunch just outside the Gallery with a light breeze holding down the heat of the day. The idea for that whole area with the boardwalk, the cafe, bar, gallery and dining areas has been beautifully conceived and detailed. The gallery space is lovely and I had a nice chat for some further background with Jo, who tells me that they have life groups there also, which you attend.
So, the exhibition is truly lovely and you should be proud of it. I spent a long time taking everything in on the walls. A lovely and impressive range of imagery and techniques with your magnificent multimedia head providing the Wow factor on entry. The whole exercise has been beautifully arranged and the framing concepts with their variety of presentations work so well. And your framer had done an impeccable job. '
